I’ll go in depth into the things you’ll learn in today’s newsletter, and give you lots of concrete examples (because I am all about concrete examples for learning faster!)
I hope you’ll join us!
Over the past few years, I’ve been studying and implementing Linkedin to build my business.
I’ve personally seen how it can be your secret weapon for attracting high-value clients and creating your own brand of influence.
But standing out in the mass of profiles requires a strategic approach.
This is especially true if you’re trying to get American clients, but :
- you’re outside of the USA
- your native language is not English
- you’re competing with Americans in your industry
Many foreign entrepreneurs that I follow on Linkedin struggle to navigate the nuances of US business culture. That leads to missed connections and lost opportunities.
It might seem like the odds are against you. Don’t despair.
If you have a clear strategy, you can do it.
I’ve seen it happen, and I’ve helped it happen.
Here are the key steps to follow to resonate with your American prospects, and watch your network grow:
Create a powerful profile:
Headline & Summary: Be crystal clear! What problem do you solve for US clients in just a few words?
Don’t be afraid to quantify your achievements with numbers or impressive results.
For example, instead of “Marketing Expert,” try “Growth Hacker | IncreasedClient Leads by 300%.”
Personal touch: Let your personality shine! Share your story, passions, and what makes you unique.
US audiences appreciate authenticity and your personal story.
You want to stay professional, but that doesn’t mean being boring, corporate, and without personality. In fact, showcasing your personality helps you connect on a deeper level.
That’s what will make your business stand out in the masses.
Tailored content is king:
Understand your audience: Research US industry trends, challenges, and communication styles.
A little research goes a long way! Understanding your target audience allows you to tailor your content and speak directly to their needs.
Content with Impact: Share valuable insights, tips, and success stories relevant to US clients.
Don’t just talk about yourself – focus on providing actionable advice and showcasing how you’ve helped similar businesses succeed.
If you have US clients already, great! Talk about them.
If not, talk to me and we can work together to help you get US clients.
Build Strategic Connections:
Personalized Invitations: Craft messages beyond “I’d like to connect.” Highlight shared interests or how you can help their business.
A generic invitation gets ignored. Take the time to personalize your connection requests and mention something specific that caught your eye in their profile.
Proactive prospecting:
Use Boolean operators for better searches: Find US decision-makers in your niche using targeted keywords and filters.
LinkedIn’s advanced search tools (even the free ones) are powerful for finding the exact US clients you want to connect with.
Here’s an explanation of how to do this.
Engaging direct messages (DMs): Send personalized messages that offer value, spark conversation, and lead to collaboration.
Don’t just pitch your services! In fact, don’t pitch until you’ve built at least the beginning of a relationship, and already offered some help to the person.
Start by offering a helpful tip, sharing an interesting industry article, or asking a thought-provoking question.
Then maybe talk about how you can help them with your paid product / service.
By following these steps and actively engaging with your network, you’ll be well on your way to attracting high-quality US clients on LinkedIn.
Remember, building relationships takes time and effort, but with a strategic approach, LinkedIn can become your gateway to success in the US market.
Let’s Talk!
I’d love to know how you use LinkedIn, what’s working and what you’re struggling with.
I love sharing what I’ve learned, and am happy to have a quick look at what you’re doing to see if I can help.
Share your experience in the comments, and let’s talk about it!
And for more in-depth explanations and examples of how to put all of this into practice, join me on April 25 at 12pm CEST for my masterclass.
