Cooking in English: 2 Typical New Orleans Dishes (with recipes!)

If you’re like me, you love discovering a county through its food. Traveling and good food… what more do you need in life? 😉

When you think of “typical American food”, you probably think of things like hamburgers, hotdogs, and cheesecake. Sure, these are good, but honestly, they’re nothing special.

In reality, the USA has so many delicious regional dishes that are truly special! But even when the ingredients are easy to find, you often can’t find these dishes outside of the USA.

That’s why I wanted to change from the regular weekly lessons to share these special recipes  (pronunciation: /reh – suh – PEEZ/) with you.

As you know, I was in New Orleans recently, and with my friend Jorge, we cooked up something special, just for you. You can improve your English and get a taste of real American food!

Click here to get Jorge’s recipes.
He put them together just for the Speak English Community! (Thanks, Jorge!)

If you make one of his dishes, tell me about it in the comments!

Or, if cooking is not your thing, tell me what you thought about this video.
It’s a little experimental, so I’d love to hear what you think.

Enjoy your meal,

Christina

P.S. This Thursday July 27th is my 36th birthday! Woohoo! It would really make me happy if you can come over to this page and tell me how Speak English with Christina has helped you. Thanks 🙂
